The International Women’s Brass Conference is a time to celebrate music and build a community in support of women brass musicians. We have made the decision, that due to Covid-19, we will be unable to safely bring people together in support of this cause in 2021.

The IWBC will be postponing its next conference to May 24-28, 2022. Thank you to the University of North Texas for continuing their support in hosting this event! We will make up for lost time with incredible concerts, presentations, competitions and fellowship. We can’t wait to see you there! All are welcome!

IWBC 2022

Recent events in our country have shown that standing up for injustice continues to be the most courageous thing we can do. It’s okay to feel uncertain how to help, and it’s okay to be fearful. Our community, you and I together, can be an example of the way forward. I call upon us all to stand up for everyone in our community, and to speak up in those times when being silent would be easier. We understand what constitutes a safe space, and it is our obligation to work toward that goal for all.

The call to do better echos around us. Listen to the voices and stand up with them. Stand aside to allow others to speak their turn. Nurture a safe space for everyone to live and work, where honesty can be prized and where new values replace old. Our Board of Directors, our staff and our community continues to stand with you. We believe in a better tomorrow and we salute you. We believe in change. #blacklivesmatter #inthistogether
